Description

Perform routine filter and ignition service on a compatible air-cooled standby generator with the UGP 6485 Maintenance Kit. Designed for select 2013 and newer 14–22 kW Evolution-series generators equipped with 999cc V-twin engines, the kit includes an air filter, an extra-capacity oil filter, and two spark plugs.

The UGP air filter replaces Generac 0J8478 and helps prevent dirt and debris from entering the engine. The UGP 0868539E oil filter replaces designated Generac 070185-series filters, while the UGP 490155T spark plugs replace several commonly referenced Briggs & Stratton and Champion plug numbers.

Maintenance Guidance:

Follow the maintenance schedule and service procedures in the generator owner’s manual. Turn off the generator, disable automatic starting, disconnect the starting battery as directed, and allow the engine to cool before servicing.

Ensure the air filter is correctly seated. Lightly coat the new oil-filter gasket with clean engine oil and install the filter according to the specified tightening instructions.

Check both spark-plug gaps before installation and tighten the plugs to the engine manufacturer’s specified torque. Refill the engine with the approved oil type and quantity, then inspect the oil-filter area for leakage.
