Follow the maintenance schedule and service procedures in the generator owner’s manual. Turn off the generator, disable automatic starting, disconnect the starting battery as directed, and allow the engine to cool before servicing.
Install the air cleaner in the correct orientation. Lightly coat the new oil-filter gasket with clean engine oil and tighten the filter according to Generac’s instructions. Check the spark-plug gap and tighten it to the specified torque.
Refill the engine with the approved oil type and quantity, then inspect the oil-filter area for leakage. Verify the generator’s complete model and serial numbers before ordering.
