The air filter helps maintain clean engine airflow, the oil filter removes contaminants from circulating oil, and the fuel filter helps protect the gasoline-delivery system. Maintenance Guidance:

Follow the maintenance schedule and procedures in the generator operator’s manual. Turn off the generator, disconnect shore power and automatic-start systems, isolate the starting battery as directed, and allow the engine to cool before servicing.

Install the air filter in the correct orientation. Lightly coat the new oil-filter gasket with clean engine oil and tighten the filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use the included socket only if it correctly fits the filter.

Close the gasoline supply before replacing the fuel filter. Note its flow direction and inspect the surrounding fuel lines and clamps. Check both spark-plug gaps before installation and tighten the plugs to the specified torque.

Add the 15W-40 oil gradually while monitoring the dipstick. Do not assume the engine requires all two quarts. After service, inspect the oil and fuel systems for leaks, stop the generator, and recheck the oil level.

Verify the generator’s complete model, specification letter, serial number, fuel type, and approved oil viscosity before ordering.
