Maintenance Guidance:
Generac recommends following the service schedule in the portable generator owner’s manual. Seasonal maintenance may be appropriate for some models, while more frequent service may be required after extended operation or use in dusty, hot, or otherwise demanding conditions.
Turn off the generator, disconnect all electrical loads, close the fuel valve, disconnect the spark-plug lead, and allow the engine to cool before maintenance.
Install the air filter in the correct orientation. Clean the oil-filter mounting surface, confirm that the old gasket has been removed, lightly coat the new filter gasket with clean engine oil, and tighten it according to Generac’s instructions.
Check the spark-plug gap before installation and tighten the plug to the specified torque. Add the approved oil type and quantity while monitoring the dipstick.
Use the fuel-stabilizer sample only according to its label and the generator owner’s manual. Verify the complete generator model and serial numbers before ordering.
