Clean the filter-mounting surface and confirm that the old gasket has been removed. Lightly coat the new filter gasket with clean engine oil, install the filter according to the manufacturer’s tightening instructions, and refill the engine with the specified oil and quantity.
Start the engine, inspect the filter area for leaks, shut the engine off, and recheck the oil level. Dispose of the used oil and filter according to local regulations.
Verify the engine model, original filter number, thread size, gasket diameter, available installation clearance, and specified relief-valve pressure before ordering.
