Maintenance Guidance:
Follow the service schedule and procedures in the generator owner’s manual. Turn off the generator, disable automatic starting, disconnect the starting battery as directed, and allow the engine to cool before maintenance.
Install the air filter in the correct orientation. Clean the oil-filter mounting surface, lightly coat the new filter gasket with clean oil, and tighten the filter according to the engine manufacturer’s instructions.
Check both spark-plug gaps and tighten the plugs to the specified torque. Add the approved oil gradually while monitoring the dipstick; do not assume the engine will require all three included quarts.
After service, run the generator, inspect the oil-filter area for leakage, stop the engine, and recheck the oil level. Verify the generator’s complete model and serial numbers before ordering.
