Maintenance Guidance:
Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it according to the generator owner’s manual. Generac manuals commonly recommend servicing the paper element annually and more frequently in dusty conditions.
To clean a reusable paper element, gently tap it against a solid surface. Do not use compressed air or wash the filter unless the applicable manual specifically permits it. Replace the filter if it is torn, damaged, or remains excessively dirty.
Turn off the generator, allow the engine to cool, and disconnect the spark-plug wire before servicing it. Wear protective gloves and prevent loose debris from entering the carburetor intake.
